Even if we wanted to make everyone use the same ship we cannot because the available ships are random. But I think part of the competition is using your own designs. It will in part show who is luckiest, the best player, and the best ship designer.

So the idea is that we start a pilot on Sunday (or thereafter) and see how far we can get him/her before Saturday night and then post or email the results? I think it might be interesting to start a forum topic each Sunday and each person can reply who is taking on the challenge and then post again ...

From what I can tell, the missions are assigned based on rank, so the opposite would actually be true. The faster you advance in rank, the quicker you see the harder missions. Perhaps you are just extremely unlucky. :) On the other hand, you may get rewarded more money for more kills or better medal...

Missile accuracy would be interesting to track, but people would need to remember to write it down after each mission since I do not believe it is stored anywhere.

You would, of course, need to pre-emptively destroy all your wingmen so they do not steal any of your future kills.

I think that sounds like a fun idea. Most of my pilots never get past mission 4 or 5 (mortality rate is high early on). I think his point was that since it (your base, presumably - talking about this in character, rather than as a game) knows if you completed the objective when the mission is over it obviously has some way of detecting success or failure. This information could be transmitted to your ship immediately...
