I think indeed that firefight shouldn't be changed much. It is a command level operation, not micromanagement. But in that vein of thinking a hold fire command is a command level order. To make it realistic perhaps you could set up how long a person could hold fire based on morale levels. Hardened a...

I know this topic is a bit old but it is the perfect one to reply to with what I have to say. I think there should be a hold fire command. True this isn't a micromanagement game, however a hold fire command is in no way micromanagement. You are just telling your troops to not let loose. That is part...
Better realism with how Artillery suppresses troops: Yes I understand that any sane person would duck and cover when a rain of giant shells comes flying down on their position. That is fine and completely realistic. However, what isn't realistic is that everyone stays suppressed so long that it lets...

Capitol Ship battles. I can just picture two gargantuan ships sliding past each other, each with loads of rotating turrets firing off at each other. All the while the smaller fighters flit between them, engaging in dogfights and strikes against the enemy ships turrets. You could even have things lik...

Late game is crazy. I lost my 180 mission commander in a blaze of glory. It was one of the destroy the enemy freighter missions and I had found the freighter and was lining it up. I had previously been tangling with a few enemy warriors so I was scuffed up a bit and my shields were down in several p...

Logical error on protect crippled ship mission
I was playing the crippled ship mission and got into a dogfight with a few barbarians. The crippled ship decides it is going to fly straight through our fight and miraculously avoids almost all missiles and doesn't run into anybody. I notice it has yellow engines so I go "oh goody he is hyperspacing...

That's the real trick isn't it. Surviving enough missions till you can afford and get a double command module ship. I am going slowly insane though since my last 3 commanders have all died before I could get one and all have died because a single daycorn took out their shields and module in one hit....

Very true, however I have yet to see a ship design that makes you impervious to being hit by anything ever :P Though I have discovered that the best way to avoid a single missile killing you, is to put two command modules on opposite sides of the ship (usually left and right wings for me since I tak...

I didn't know this was possible
I was in an earlier mission and I picked a super watcher. When my forces came in contact with the enemy I ended up in a head to head with a frigate. The frigate had just launched through all but one of its missile tubes (so it could only fire one missile). There were no other ships in the direct vic...
