Circle and guard?
I just noticed that if you order your squad to circle and go of hunting the enemy on your own that they will come and join in when you launch an attack. How do people feel about this?
I left them circling so that they could defend our base so it was a little unwelcome.

There is a file you can download or you can copy and rename an existing map file and alter it. The art for the map is just a paint file so that is easy and the copied map file is essentially a tutorial as you can work out what you need to change to make it fit with your map quite easily. No escape, no surrender.
I just flew a patrol mission where my squad was destroyed and I was forced to eject. But because the I nailed the enemy leader first they hyperspaced before my pod did.
I just held a whole sector with an escape pod.
