I like stealth more than any other component. I also fly my stealth ship designs with 3-4 scanners forward, and 2 on each remaining side. Doing so allows me to not only see the enemy, but manouver around and behind them as well, for optimum shots. I can't tell you how many times I have been travelli...

I agree plectrons do a great job, but for those static targets, crippled ships, and for the wonderful moments that enemy ships all run into each other and stay still for a few moments :) Also, with the 8 or more stealth I have on my ship, I can often come around behind a ship and they rarely ever se...

I play 2.0 a lot (almost the same as 1.0) and yataris certainly are the best. It would seem that's why the destroyer and cruiser have them in short supply, and the raiders manouverability is limited, beacuse the weapon is so large. I think Sean toned it down because of how people could load so many ...

Ah, yes, unlucky circumstances. Which reminds me...

Where o where are u tonight?
Why did you leave me in this fight all alone?
I fought and fought with wingmen I trusted,
But in the end, 'hold fire' was gone!

The yataris are slow and don't pack the punch that plectrons do, but they are great for me. With stealth I can sneak up behind slow moving ships or static defenses. Now, we all know how annoying it is to try to line up a shot for plectrons, and notice that your just 'slightly' off target. Yataris fi...

6. Collide with asteroids (also annoying)
7. Attack targets that are NOT important
8. Make impossible shots at the enemy (which results in #5, above)
9. Collide with you a lot (again, annoying)
10. Provide suppressing fire, especially if your in the way (again, see #5 above)

I'm for more control over my repair bot. If I have a repair bot installed, I want to direct that bot to repair specific items on my ship, until that object is fixed or until I tell it to work on something else. I also want an estimate from the repair bot on how long it will take to fix different obj...

The stealth table is the bomb. For players who are pursued by a relentless AI, check the ship you are engaged with. If it has enough scanners, it will see you depending on distance, range and angle from you. I play a ship with lots of stealth, and I am fequently able to manouver amoungst an enemy pr...

I'm on mission #44, attack enemy planet. My ship is a Stealth Fighter v5 (of my own design): 3 scanners forward (with 2 on each side for a total of 9) -it's hard to kill what you can't see 2 command centers in the front 3 launchers (1 front, 1 left, 1 right) 8 stealth (2 per side, although the total...

Indeed, a ships weapon magazine loaded with Plectrons can make almost any commander feel somewhat invincible!

how do you save the gold cross data in a txt file? do you mean manually typing/saving the data every time you earn a gold cross? btw, your not *cheating* are you? with the new changes sean made in 4.0 it makes it difficult to backup commanders, but not impossible from posts I've read. I have been pl...

I like the cluster and scanner missile ideas. However, the current assortment of missile weapons seems to do the job pretty sweet already! :)

I've managed to play version 4 to the point where i have a few hundred personal kills and I am routinely getting gold cross medals. I got curious and counted the medals (at the bottom of the mission debrief). There are eight in number. Hmm, seems like I would have had more than that, so I played 2 m...
