Re: Ripl Roulk and Paunn Help

Did you read my more detailed comments in the other Ripl thread and was that not enough?

Re: Help with Regy, Please

Congratulations!! This was a very painfully difficult map for me too.

Something tells me Sauron (in the 1st expansion set) is harder though. No one has yet claimed to solve it on the hardest difficulty level, and I'd love a hint on that one!

Re: Index of islands for Slay version 6.0

You sound experienced enough that you might actually know how the AI chooses moves on the hardest difficulty level. I'd love to know more precisely how it chooses it's moves. I went to the effort of writing a document and posting on this forum about what I think the AI does, but I can't always expla...

Re: Index of islands for Slay version 6.0

I don't play on PC but am curious what these numbers are. I assume it's some sort of mapping between map number and map name, but what is the 2nd number?

Re: Sauron

I'm deliberately deferring this one, but I do intend to give it another serious attempt in the coming months. Why months? Because I'm working my way through all the maps, trying to alternate between solving a bunch of fun/easy maps then solving another toughie. I will likely try (and hopefully solve...

minor bug -- how should I report it?

A found a minor bug on the latest version of Slay for iOS and can reproduce it 100% of the time. It's certainly not critical but I want to report it in case Sean has the time/interest to fix it. What's the best way to do so? Does Sean read these forums and take bug reports from them? Here's how to r...

Re: how the AI works and how to win on the hardest setting

I took a bunch of pics to try to figure out how the AI chooses where to place troops when it's in defensive mode. After many attempts to explain the behavior, I can conclusively say, I have no idea and I give up. But rather than toss the pics I took, I'll dump them here in case anyone is interested:...

map discussion: Suask (set 3, page 8, map 16)

Suask (set 3, page 8, map 16) also gave me a little trouble on the hardest setting. Here’s a solution with full victory on turn 27 (probably not the fastest possible solution). Screenshots immediately before ending each turn: https://postimg.org/gallery/3aiucm5w0/ Here are a few hints / commentary i...

Re: Turtle

Just wanted to say thanks for the tips! I tried this 2 more times but couldn't replicate yet. I'm actually planning on tackling a different hard map next, but then Turtle will probably be next after that.

Re: map discussion: Tayk (set 3, page 7, map 26)

P.S.: I should point out one tactic here that I used on turns 14-16. Maybe everyone on this forum knows this trick already, but posting it just in case. In my central base, I deliberately chose not to buy anything on these turns, because I had an empty, well-defended buffer zone around this territor...

map discussion: Tayk (set 3, page 7, map 26)

Tayk (set 3, page 7, map 26) gave me a little trouble on the hardest setting. Here’s a solution. Screenshots immediately before ending each turn: https://postimg.org/gallery/2xa08fux6/ I much prefer playing in landscape mode. Turns out, at least for this map, you can’t zoom out far enough to show th...

Re: map discussion: Mary Poppins (set 2, page 7, map 4)

My pleasure, glad someone is finding it useful! I intend to both give full screenshot solutions + textual hints in case someone wants to try the hints first, but I'm curious if you or anyone else finds the textual hints useful at all or if you just want the screenshots. Also, if anyone ever tries to...

map discussion: Mary Poppins (set 2, page 7, map 4)

Here’s a solution to Mary Poppins (set 2, page 7, map 4) on the hardest setting. Screenshots immediately before ending each turns: https://postimg.org/gallery/2nl2tc8i2/ This was another map that I was not able to solve with my normal strategies and tactics, but I was able to brute force it. This wa...
