Another earth-shattering bug
I was on the verge of winning a MoaB game when my last city was blown up by a bomber, but fortunately I still had a paratroop waiting in mid-air to recapture it and then win the game for me. But to my horror, I was not allowed to move the piece. The game just cycled through each player, ignoring me,...

Re: beat 5 clever comps with 3 units
Try map 17, 40x40 (on clever, of course!) 4 of the 5 opponents start attacking you right away. There's a way to beat it with bombers and paratroops about 40% of the time, but you have to follow a precise script and there's no tolerance for screwups (shot down bombers) in the first 50 turns or so. Th...

Re: beat 5 clever comps with 3 units
5 different units? Too complicated for me.
If I were playing a human, I'd have to probably do it like you, though. You'd be smart enough to not cluster your stuff together for my bombings to be as effective.

beat 5 clever comps with 3 units
I figured out that unless you're so boxed in to where you get killed in the first few turns, you can beat the game with nothing more than paratroops and bombers. Expand as quickly as you can with paratroops only, and when you run into the other players garrison 3 armies into each city (to ensure tha...

Stratego Variants we played as children
When I was I kid, we were really into this game, and came up with some variants which would probably not be too hard for you to add as options (ok, apart from the AI...!), if there's any interest. We had moving bombs and flags, which really changed everything. The bombs would function as normal, exc...

Re: Gigantic, Earth-Shattering, Apocalyptic Bug in Game
I just noticed that when red gets stuck with this losing setup and I then have to close the screen because the game freezes, the win counter goes up without the games played counter changing. Because it says that I won 14 out of 13 games against one of the characters (although my "best win" was take...

Gigantic, Earth-Shattering, Apocalyptic Bug in Game
If you use a starting setup with the 6 bombs blocking all your other pieces from moving, and if you play red, the Game Over window does not appear. It only appears if you play blue, after the computer has made its first move. I haven't yet tried replacing all the computer's startup choices with this...
