Re: Enemy escape pods
No it doesn't matter. You get the credit for killing the enemy ship, but it's OK to let the enemy pilot escape. You do get heavily penalised for killing your friendly pilots though, whether they were in their ship or in their escape pod. Presumably, the politician or trainee pilots on a shuttle don...

Defensive equipment
I am suggesting to Sean to create the following new defensive structures. All these are set up at the start of the game, and are available only to the defenders. They shall work in the same way as ordinary units, except that they are immobile and do not count against the 20-unit limit. barbed wire -...

The setting
After two years of CM, I still don't get it. Is there some sort of civil war between the four races or something? If so, how come on the Role of Honour it says that the pilots gave their life to the Empire ? Are they fighting to reunite a fallen empire of some sort? Are they fighting, sector-by-sect...

I always figured that hyperspacing, hyperspaced you BACK to a known destination (like the homeworld) and you had to fly through space to GET somewhere useful. Hence we fly about (and defend empty sectors) rather than just hyperspace everywhere. First, sorry for bumping an ancient topic. However, if...

Ejecting
Would be much more realistic if each command point had its own escape pod, no? So say I had four command points on my ship. Two of them are destroyed. I eject. I should produce two escape pods, not one. Or, maybe a shuttle instead of an escape pod. You get to choose which one to use. A shuttle you c...

Using the Shrink feature, could I make a ship that was really small - so small that it could not be hit by missiles?

If you want to do Windows programming, then I strongly recommend VB.NET. Edit It all depends on what you want to do. If you want to write games such as those written by Sean, then VB/VB.NET would be easier to use. Most programs nowadays are GUI programs, which VB/VB.NET handle better (at least on Wi...
