So how come a guy from Delaware is interested in a kiwi Heath Robinson tank? Why not something Brit or German from WW1?

(Not that I'm complaining, mind. Quite flattered actually. It's just a pity it can't be used in any historically accurate scenario!).

From one of my earlier posts: "HMGs: There's no way to stop them blazing away at early targets (other than keeping them out of LoS, of course) but I've found that modding them by giving them an extra loader and increasing the ammo loadout of the loaders encourages them to perform a little more effec...

Run the Game. Right hand option on the Command Bar at the top of the screen, labelled "Help". They're not all that comprehensive but the basics are there.

Amazing map. Must try it. Good job with the screenshots.

32 v 190 doesn't seem very fair, though, especially with the objective on the enemy half of the map !! I'd say you did well to last 19 minutes.

This is sarcasm, right? COH is much prettier than Firefight but realistic it is not!.

Re: New Question

I need to know why arty takes so long? Actually, with the exception of certain historical examples that involve a lot of preliminary artillery fire planning, the artillery response in Firefight is blindingly fast compared to "real life". IIRC, it takes only 2 & 1/2 minutes from the call for fire un...

if i was the leader of my country's army i'd have each standard fire team of 4 with a light machine gun, a marksman weapon and 2 assault rifles. These days the "standard" fire team org seems to be: - Standard calibre (5.56) belt-fed LMG/SAW/whatever you want to call it. - Designated marksman-type w...

Nomadic, I think that's way too complicated, mate. For Firefight purposes, a simple Weapons Free/Hold Fire switch is all that is required, fully controllable by the player. I have no trouble imagining my Firefight company commander telling his platoon and section commanders "Don't fire until you see...

You need to use a pure text editor like Notepad (or Sean's own Newtpad) that doesn't insert any word processing characters or other header information into the file.

Your own artillery causes casualties to your own troops, nothing else does so far as I can see. I think that tank main armament and anti-tank gun fire also cause friendly casualties if misdirected. Although I tend to argue against most changes to Firefight, a unit "hold fire" toggle is something I ...

Try a one man unit ELITE with a rifle. No grenades. You'd have to position him carefully but once in a while he might do something useful. Maybe give him a REGULAR offsider with a carbine or SMG for close protection? Such a unit would have to be class RECON. I often put such a man in my rifle squads...
