I haven't found the Windows app yet that doesn't recall how I left the window.

I'm sure I've set it to Maximise before in the Properties, but that sometimes it doesn't. Could all be in my head though :)

But the thing is my unit doesn't return fire, even through the tank is visible to me. Then again, my unit is an ATG each time, so that's possibly something to do with it.

But because the AI tends to focus its infantry, if the first squad gets caught there's no hope of rescue since the other squads are probably following the same route.

In situations like that, the only time the AI has broken through is when it brings artillery down on the ATG.

Yep, I've fixed it that way before, but it's a matter of maintaining consistency. Windows apps always remember how you left them... except these ones. I'd like them to fall in line :)

I've also found that sometimes that settings appears to be overriden by these apps.

Sean sold the rights to Matrix, but they bought it so they could update things like the graphics etc. Firefight was/is one of Sean's most popular games, and after Matrix sat on it for five years doing nothing, except changing the initial voice over to appeal to the American audience and introducing ...

I'm sorry you can't handle different opinions. Perhaps you'd be best avoid public forums?

It becomes a problem if it was firing at a tank, but not the tank you wanted it to fire. Then firing the machine gun doesn't help, nor does the AI overriding my target designation.

Yep, it does... and there's my problem. That behaviour is what maximise is for, but the game doesn't remember that I left it in maximised mode and so doesn't open in this the next time it loads. There are good reasons for using a small window sometimes (screenshots, browsing while playing a defence ...

The AI does seem a little over focused. It doesn't always seem to hit the centre anymore, but it doesn't spread out enough. It could do with at least two focus points as I saw in the above game it funneled its large number of troops into a single area and two guns pinned a company.

All hail the mighty anti-tank guns

Is it just me, or are infantry almost pointless in defence? I just played a defence mission where I bought three ATGs and three squads of infantry and two recon teams and a bazooka. I placed the recon teams in the two primary wood areas to watch for incoming. I one rifle squad in a wood on the left,...

Remembering my window settings

Ever since the dawn of time I've wished Firefight (and all the games on this site) would remember what window sizes I used in my last session, and recall them when I loaded the game instead of reverting to their "not quite maximised but almost as good as" size.

Are infantry in a house?

I can never tell if infantry, sorta under a roof, are in a house or next to it. Often teams, like an HMG, will have one disappear under the roof and the other guy kinda stick out. Is he in cover? The graphics need to clean this up a bit I think.

AI Tanks LOS issue

1.99s

Sometimes tanks will try and fire on a target they don't have LOS on. I've seen tanks trying to fire through a hill, hitting the ground right in front of them because they have no LOS on the target anymore (just sitting there, blasting away).

Snowy map - Green minimap

Running 1.99s. Is there an update on the cards to bring the minimap colour in line with that of the main map? It's actually surprisingly hard to track the map from the minimap when they're different colours. Another note on snowy maps... can we please have easier to see selection boxes? Grey is almo...
