I now have my first Admiral: Admiral Yatari Evasion so hurray for me.

You could overpopulate the fuel depot mission with the exploding kind.

It has it's standard setup along with two launchers (side mounted) and three units of Orik missiles (one line). I kept it reasonably cheap so I could test it out earlier on in the game, but I also quite like the idea of it possesing a limited punch with specialist firepower. I wonder if it might not...

Do you think it would be possible to get an order to have your wingmates orbit the closest objective(s). It would compliment the order to circle their current positions.

I had some spare time so I made a replica of the comet miner, remembering that Legacy said he wanted to make replicas of ships so he could outfit them as Q-Ships

I agree with pedros, balancing ship components and squad choices is part of the long term fun. If you have a ship that mops up enemy combat craft but can't get the job done that command has set then perhaps it isn't as 'ultimate' as you believe.

Perhaps our politician is in a campaign trail, leaving leaflets at space stations, putting posters up on asteroids... that kind of thing.

This idea seems like a winner to me. The computer pilots might have a tough time though.

If your AI prioritised the mission objective (and avoided being distracted by chaff) the opponent would too and it would be almost impossible to win a "protect the sitting duck" missions. They have their orders, just as we have ours. I would settle for the ability to designate a single target as 'm...

There are some dramatic sci fi moments that focus around a ship having to flee using its damaged 'jumping' engine. Anyone have any favourites?

Conventional ambition is suckers. Sure you can play the system and reap the rewards and the good stuff but if you fail then there's all the resentment and even if you succeed you were still playing somebody else's rules.
