I think the primary reason is they don't want us to identify with the axis, but that reasoning implies that the average soldier who fought against the allies was a barbaric monster. While the Japanese culture was certainly alien to us at the time, they are not, nor have they ever been evil, and we E...

Another buggy issue... A campaign I've got going on my Windows 2k machine is stalled, as Firefight takes up 100% of my processor and my computer bogs down to an almost-complete-hang. I thought it was a fluke the first time, so I took twenty minutes to save and restart, and every time I load the save...

If high command messes their maps up much worse, I'll be rolling my Panzers into the Reich Chancellery courtyard...

Anyone else do stupid things...

...like move your whole force in column formation along one edge of the map to avoid having to figure out topographic information from the minimap to plan a terrain-utilizing approach? On some maps that have a flatland along the edge, I've moved entire forces up that flat, with the exception of a co...

I reloaded my save, retreated, and the next mission built fine. This will just have to be a blemish on my service record...

Proving to be an unwinnable mission, haven't managed to find a flag to capture, or Stag Oasis. There are a bunch of trees where there shouldn't be, and none where there should.

I've swept the entire top half of the map with a line of troops.

...I've played a lot of WWII themed games, from shooters to strategy, and there are relatively few that let you play as the Germans. Anyone else notice that? I know why it is that way, but it's not something I've ever seen anyone else comment on. Being that I come from a long line of German-American...

Well, one thing I might be able to do(have to talk to a friend about it) is set up a PHP based site that would allow people to upload their ships on their own and post pictures of them.

If not that, then I'd be willing to take over creating a new HTML based page.

Ditto on non-cheating AI. It's harder to program a challenging AI that doesn't cheat, but much more rewarding for everyone involved.

Yeah, I would urge any developers to avoid spending too much time and effort on products for the iPad for at least a year, I'm not sure it'll be around much longer than that. It's a manifestation of all that is bad about Apple in general.

Kind of a derivative of New Sparta's idea... not all firefights took place over specific objectives. In almost every war ever fought, groups of soldiers from opposing sides have simply run into one another, and the fight that followed served no other purpose than to allow the victorious force to con...

Recently Sean's had a problem with his mail filtering out incoming mail from certain mail servers. If you can, try sending your request from a couple different mail services to give it a better chance of getting to him. I've personally never had it take more than ten days to get a response.

Thanks very much :) I don't know if anyone would be interested, but I'm thinking about writing a short article on how to use the ship designer - the help file isn't exactly comprehensive, and there are one or two little tricks I've picked up... If you ever do make a good write-up, and I ever get my...
