I got Age of Empires 3 for Christmas and I'd probably rather play Slay.
For $20 you can't go far wrong.
However I'd recommend you got for all the games for $40. Of the other 7 you are likely to find at least one that makes it worth while.

It is annoying, especially when my high scanner wingmen hyperspace out (because they are out of missiles) when they would still be scout very useful looking for the enemy freighter (or whatever). Still, thats life. To some extent it can be offset by starting with at least 5 wingmen and setting them ...

DpM, I understand your viewpoint, I've been known to tweak the odd hex file myself and I've written games in the past taking much effort with the player file to ensure people can't hack it (applying the check in the ship designed AND in the game and rejecting bad ships at both points and adding awkw...

Just because you have to pay for the 'extra' components doesn't mean it's still not cheating. Those players who play within the 8-per-side limitations imposed by Sean will have a harder time than those who use the extra space. Don't forget it was Sean who imposed the 8 limit (with the ship designer)...

Some of those ships have more than 8 components on a side and the last one has launchers on the rear. Erm ... these are things you can't do.

Actually the way Digital River take their piece of the profit to cover the cost of processing the credit card bill makes it not practical to charge 1/8 of the cost of all 8 games for just a single game.

$40 for all of them is a good deal.

It would be very boring to have to select your missile load for every ship at the start of every mission.
More flexable certainly, but lets keep the logistics quick and get on to the combat.

After 39 rows in the custom ships pane (including spacers, which I don't use as they tape up a ships slot) and additional ships added remove another ship to make room.

Sean states that this was not intentional (he has an upper limit but it was supposed to be much higher than this).

39 appears to be the largest number of custom ships you can import into the game at any one time. Sean has stated that this was not supposed to be the case (it's on his 'to do' list to look at it). Whenever I import (or create) the 40th custom ship; one of the previous 39 gets removed to make room. :(

You paid for the game, as it's written in its existing form.

You want someone to tell you how to modify the game.
How much are you willing to pay someone to tell you (or more likely due to its complexity provide an application) to do this modification?
