OFP! The best game ever! Apart from firefight of course :D

Modability is the best thing to add to every game, It's the reason OFP is still going strong.

The computer makes it's mind up quite quickly where tanks are involved, if it has none left and you still have some it retreats almost immediantly. However I do agree that some missions can last an abnormally long amount of time, mainly while the computer tries to see if it has enough troops left. Y...

Re: Time: The Ultimate Weapon (defense change requests)

1) there should be a menu option to make the computer project the outcome--essentially to play both sides until the end--and an "Accept this projection? Y/N" prompt. **Ideally, this would report the win/loss result, the general statistics on deaths, surrenders, kills, etc. It would not necessarily ...

Grenades are already in there. Each soldier has some. How would you suggest implementing mines? Maybe a minefield area on some maps could be good, add an extra tactical element. I would love sean to make a naval game, but I can't see how it could really be done, especially not from this era as naval...

Ah, basic. I wrote a Snake game in QBasic for DOS and started an RPG, just never got around to finishing the graphics engine. Microsoft has a language called Visual Basic, handy for quick windows GUI programs but pretty pants all in all.

Nope, you only have enogh artillery in support to fire one barrage at a time. Once the last barrage has fired (You'll get the message and the circle will dissapear), then you can start aiming a new barrage and the last one will still land, but if you start a new barrage before that the old one will ...

Hey, I'm not sean but maybe I could help! I've never noticed the first bug but I rarely havd lots of squads. I've seen the odd fences from time to time but not often. I've never lost the movement arrow either. The artillary oval will dissapear when it has fired 3 positioning rounds and three full ba...

Yep, just like in the real war there will be battles which you can't win, or that are near to impossible to win. To get a better rating try and drag out the battle as long as you can, not as realistic but the game takes into accouint your much smaller force and may give you a better rating for the l...

Done! The main problem on sites like that is that people will start the game, choose their units and expect instant action, which is not what the game is about. They don't give it the time it needs to see what to do. Also there's a high chance that they will lose their tanks and get their squads pin...

I find it quite a hard tactic to pull off anyway, if they just have even one anti tank gun it can stall the advance. What are the exact conditions for a win in an attack? Do you need x amound of firepower there or should the enemy be x distance away or what?

You;ve got to be quite lucky to pull that off, if they have anti tank stuff (especially later in the war when every other german has a panzerfaust) you can lose your tanks quick, or they just stop dead in the open.

The troops almost always throw grenades if there is an enemy at very close range, or if you get them close to an enemy gun.

Looking good now. One thing I think Critical Mass may have always benifitted from is a more dynamic campaign, where your actions in one mission can affect further missions, there could be an all out war, with a galaxy map that shows how the races are doing, if you complete a mission well then it can...
