Re: Wizard over the internet

I used Apple's own networking system which only allows connections to be made over a local WiFi network or using Bluetooth. In the future I'll look into using an internet wide system, but that will make discovering and connecting to devices a bit more complex.

Map Editor app

I've made the Map Editor (it's a Windows app) freely available from:

http://www.windowsgames.co.uk/download/ ... rSetup.exe

This edits and creates maps for the Steam and iOS versions of Firefight (but not the old Windows version).

I'll work on a webpage for instructions for it too.

Re: Line of Sight Bug?

Sorry about that bug! For the machine guns in tanks I accidentally put in the code "if you can't see the target then shoot" instead of "if you can see the target then shoot". OOOoops! I've got it fixed and sent off but it'll take a few days for Apple to approve the update. Thanks for brining it to m...

Re: Trouble with Steam version

Thanks for figuring out what the problem was and my guess is it's a false positive. I built the .exe file using Visual Studio and then packaged it straight up and sent it to Steam. I'm no expert on viruses but I would have thought a virus couldn't get into that .exe file and also Steam would do chec...

Re: Where is Firefight "Original"?

As you've bought the new version I'd be happy to send you a free full copy of the old version. Please send me an email to sean@windowsgames.co.uk and I'll reply with a link. I removed the old version links as I was worried people would see the new version on Steam and then go to my website and downl...

Re: New Feature

If you move a ship next to one of your cities it does get repaired. Planes also get repaired inside cities. I made it so that armies don't get repaired otherwise if you land some armies on an enemy island and attack the armies there but fail, then by the time you launch the next wave of attackers th...

Re: When will the Windows version be updated?

I'm working on porting the newer iOS versions back to Windows right now using a cross-platform library called SDL so I should be able to do Windows, Mac, Linux and Android versions. MoaB is a bit further down the list but hopefully I'll get there by the end of this year!

Re: iOS inapp Purchase

If you log in with the same iTunes account you should be able to just tap the re-sync button (the red and green arrow button at the top left) and they should appear.

Re: Network

Could you make sure that Bluetooth and Wifi is turned on on both devices? And try hosting on the other device instead?

I just use the standard iOS network code and I have noticed that sometimes it seems to be a bit flaky.

Re: Record maybe ?

Very good!

I'll be working on a new version of Windows Conquest soon and I'll try and get it on Steam and the Windows Store. Hopefully that'll get more people playing again and there'll be regular network games again. Maybe you'll find some good challenges there!

Re: Slay for Windows Phone

Right now I'm working on porting iOS Firefight back into Windows. I'm using SDL which is a cross-platform library so I should be able to use the same code and build the app on to all the major devices. Once I've got Firefight working I'll go through the other games and give them the same treatment. ...

Re: Does the multiplayer still work?

Multiplayer still works and up to 6 people can play at once. Normally I have an old computer set up running a "public server" but you can always set up your own computer to server public or private games.
