Re: Niggle now available for iPhones and iPads

Why sometimes whe cannot bid on some number of victory? I have loose a game beacause i have the trump 1 and I was forced to bid on 0. That's the default rule of the game. But if you don't like this rule, just before you start your next game click on the Settings button at the bottom left of the scr...

Re: Firefight for iPad (Dec 2013) - tank battle video

Thanks Knut! There'll be just one map on the initial release as they do take a long time to create and I want to get this game out of the door. The plan is to add new maps (each one will have several different scenarios to be played on it) as in-app purchases. The iPad version won't be very moddable...

Re: Wandering 25pdr

Sorry about that geoffo123! I think there's a bug in the Windows version where they keep missing their destination. Andy Brown has spotted the work around. The new version is a complete re-write so won't have that bug. It should be ready for iPads maybe in Jan or Feb 2014 and I'll port it to Android...

Re: Android

If the new iPad version of Firefight sells well then the next thing I'll do is port it to Android tablets.

Firefight for iPad (Dec 2013) - tank battle video

Here's a quick video of a tank battle: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/96522875/FF_tanks.mp4 I tell my Panthers to move out across the river and they intelligently find a route across the bridge. Watch the tank's instrument panel at the bottom right of the screen showing the speedo, rev counter,...

Firefight for iPad (Sept 2013) - infantry video

Here's a video of how Firefight is looking at the moment: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/96522875/FF%20infantry%20sneaking.mp4 I tell the infantry squad to move to the other side of the village pond. They move off but move tactically through the village taking cover as they go. They smash windo...

I decided that the original map at 3072x3072 pixels just wasn't epic enough for this game so now the maps are 4096x4096!

Firefight for iPad (Sept 2013)

Here is a new screenshot to show how the game is progressing (click on it to expand): FF infantry.png There's a lot more detail on the background now and roofs of houses aren't drawn when your infantry are inside the house so you can see the windows and internal walls of a house. I've been working o...

Re: Firefight for iPad

I'll try and get that done but I think I'll just have to hold a camera over my iPad, so it won't be a top quality video! The trouble is that although the game runs fine on an actual device (at 60fps) it runs at only about 10 frames a second on my Mac laptop's simulator - I've only got a 2008 white M...

Re: Dictionary Question

I used a free on line dictionary called 7 dicts as the basis for the game as it had words in different lists of commonness. I then spent months going through trying to improve it. There will always be words that people disagree over and I'll never get the word lists just right I think! I've had a qu...

Re: Firefight for iPad #2

I've already got all that implemented in the new version! In the old Windows version a man could carry a weapon (say his rifle) which has so much ammunition, and a number of grenades as well. Now, he has a list of any number of weapon systems (and each weapon system can have a list of different ammo...

Re: Firefight for iPad

It should be quite easy for me to make a future Windows version have customisable maps but it's trickier doing that for iPads. The new version is sooo much more sophisticated and realistic than the current Windows one that when you see it you'll really not want to use the old Windows version as a tr...
