Flamethrowers waste tanks in a split second. They can be used for indirect fire as well. I have broken enemy charges on the objective by shooting the lead elements with a flamethrower. It appears to strike fear into the heart of the enemy quite well.

I'm not that patient. Since previous versions would not run in the background, my favorite defense was one flame thrower and as many squads of men as I could afford (especially units with Panzerfausts!). I'd line them all up and charge the enemy attackers as soon as the battle started. This usually ...

Yes, but most of our troops should be just basic troops. Nothing so special as a SEAL squad, James Bond, or some other covert type thing. Think of commonly found items/missions. Fire Fight is in between some grand scale strategic conquest game like Axis & Allies and a small scale tactical game like ...

Maybe instead of sheep the next version could use cows. They move slower, thus solving the sheep issue.

Ah hell, I can't find it, and this topic is much more descriptive so I'll just post some mission ideas in here. Of course, since this is a war game, most of your missions should be simple attack or defend missions, but throwing even a couple of variations in would make the game more interesting. The...

I remember reading in one of the threads that promotions were a bit unreasonable because for example you would never see a general commanding such a small force. My opinion on artillery is that it is pretty much wasted on infantry unless you can squeeze 20+ enemy troops into the circle. It will supp...

That's a good idea, but even with multiple objectives, you would only have to charge one, leave a tank or two on it and then charge the other one with your remaining tanks. In some missions it is possible to have 9 Panzer II's. I think some different missions would help. There was another thread tal...

Post the specs of what you need Sean. I'm sure many of us would love to have our graphics included in your game. I know I'd do it for a mere honorable mention in the help section. Just a word of advice, Civ IV is going to be the most modable version of Civ ever, and they will be using Python. Why am...

I had this happen to me on one mission, but it was after loading the saved game. My son had been playing before me. I'm assuming it is related to a memory pointer that isn't cleared when a game is saved and another game loaded.

I'm not sure of the difference in game mechanics, but in real life, carbines were shortened rifles typically used by cavalry. It was much easier to shoot a 2 1/2 foot long rifle thana 3 1/2 foot rifle from a horses back. The carbines in WWII were typically issued to paratroops, since they were light...

Not just training though, even day to day activities can result in injury, and everyone can become ill. Maybe Pvt. Jones has the flu, or maybe Sgt. Rock has a terrible case of trench foot.

No, because you let 25 of them get away :) Anyway, they rated you Very Good... what more do you want? If you got the highest rating for that then there'd be nothing between your situation, and someone who managed to annihilate the enemy force with minimal losses. Yet another reason why campaigns ne...
