Feature request: fast forward

The topic says it all

It would be wonderful to have a fast forwad function (a slider or something) to speed the game up, especially on those monotonous first 5 minutes of defence where the enemy is not to be seen. It could automatically stop when enemies are spotted or shots are fired or something.

I play using a set of custom missions that are all just battles between squadrons of ships on each side (no asteroids, civies, turrets or anything like that). They are for use in the passenger liners and such, otherwise these things would look like nothing.. just armor and command centers. I personally dont like the idea of adding such aspects into this game. It is nice as it is, a simple dogfighting spaceship game that is lots of fun.

I downloaded this program, and it does everything he says except that I can't figure out how to change the commander from dead to alive. I have been able to kill him though... not like I am glad of it now that I dont know how to switch him back.
