hope you addressed the logic for attacking castles. The current AI will attack the capital in preference to destroying the castle, often at significant disadvantage from failing to take available territory.

Let me know when you get it ready to kick the tires.

You just weren't aware. All versions of slay allow a castle to stand alone if the capitol beside it is destroyed. One of the problems with the AI is that it does not know how to properly attack a castle. It will often preferentially attack the capitol beside the castle instead of taking the castle a...

Let me know when you want to work on the AI routines. There are a few glaring problems in the current version. 1. When attacking an enemy, the capital is preferentially attacked even though a live man or a castle would have made a better target. This can also play out backward with a live man attack...

Beat #99 version 5.0s in 15 days with no surrender

Just curiious if anyone else can beat this one in 15 days with no surrender. I had a best time previously of 16 days but when I replayed it today, I realized it was vulnerable to a peculiar slashing attack that wound up cutting it to 15 days and might even be possible in 14.

One of those weird strategy effects in Slay is that the AI will sometimes deliberately put a man in a position to starve with the apparent intent of forcing trees to multiply in an opponent's territory. This behavior is part of the base program for the game.

Space, I don't engage in petty name calling. I do get tired of answering questions that can be easily answered by the player. For example, one person came on the cmass forum and wanted to know how to "save" his player and resurrect him if he died. I gave him enough of a hint that he could easily hav...

Sketchy,

You may have to import your ships, then quit the game, then re-enter it to get it to keep them in memory.

How did you like the new ships and new playing strategy?

I had forgotten just how hard that one is to beat. The best I ever got was 31 days. Good luck with it.

If you goof it up, caveat emptor. Start Critical Mass and export any ships you want to have available in the new Designs.dat file. Before you export them, check that the "used by race" check boxes are all checked. You must export each ship that you want available whether for enemy use or for your cu...

Then I will challenge you Sketchy. I'll send you my ship designs.dat file and you can use it to start a game. I dare you to play a game that gets beyond 30 missions.

Are you up to it?

Sketchy, I'm playing a custom ship list. The enemy ships go way beyond anything in the standard Designs.dat file. To cut to the details, my game does NOT get easier until well over 100 missions. Even then, you can get shot to ribbons. I wrote up the way to change your designs list a couple of years ...

I think I just set a record, 15 consecutive gold crosses

It was for missions 35 and 49. I got a metal of Conspicuous Bravery on mission 51 and nearly got my tail shot off in mission 52. I am now on mission 57 and it is getting progressively harder with the big ships I am having to fight.

The territory that retains the capitol keeps the money. The split-off territory gets a new capitol and it accumulates money at 1 per hex per turn.
