The entire game is written around you dying when you die. If you didn't, you'd quickly find that missions get really dull; once you get to mission 100 or so the challenge is much reduced as it is. You need to learn how to play to avoid getting killed, which is different from most games, so it's frus...

No, C's too hard for me  . I did learn the basics of C, a long time ago, but then I found I liked Delphi much more, and nowadays I write in C#.

You can stack stealth on the sides and rear, where radar isn't as important (as long as you have 2 or 3 radars there you shouldn't get killed by people you can't see).

1. Yes; radars increase the view distance on that section of the ship. That's why you can sneak up behind an Eagle and not be seen, despite its decent forward radar. 2. They randomly repair any smashed internal components. 3. I think the game calculates points depending on things you destroy, and th...

Yes, collisions should be momentum-conservative if you ask me. Even more irritating is when you brush one of your own formation (going in the same direction as you) and it brings you both to a halt.

I think the size of the ship (as used for missile hits and collisions) is related to the mass of the ship and not to the position of its component triangles. Certainly if you make a ship with no triangles, you still hit things and can be shot down.

Thanks guys :). It's coming along, hopefully it will be ready for public beta around Easter or before, as it's kind of hard to test this sort of thing without any players ...

I'm working on the mechanics of moving around the map and settling the land at the minute.

A little taster of the game I'm working on just now ...

From the 'choose your world' screen, which is the only bit of graphics that actually works properly so far! It is going to be an online multiplayer strategy game, eventually.

I think the competence of your dinos ? and that of the other teams ? varies randomly from season to season. As we all know, random numbers tend to produce clusters every now and again (two seasons of 10 point championships) but eventually you'll have a bad year. I think it's just hard for dinos with...

I think it would be useful to have a more graded set of missions, so yeah, good idea. We need a version where you can have more objects in play and perhaps a bigger map, though, to make high-rank missions actually possible to write.

I think Conquest is the same as the other games in that it has no built-in way of finding games. You need to hook up with fellow players on an instant messaging service (MSN or something).

I think dying is only very bad. On one occasion I have got a posthumous Gold Cross. Obviously, though, it's not to be recommended!
