I love the Plectrons myself. Particularly against the maneuverable enemies, I find it really hard to hit with homing missiles, and the only way to get the kill is to come up on their flank and launch a volley of Plectrons into them.

Do you mean "What is LOS"? If so, the answer is Line Of Sight.

Yeah, I've always wondered about drones too. Maybe the robot's 'brain' decides it'd rather not get fried? 8)

Pods always come out to the right, though ... which is, annoyingly frequently, straight into the path of oncoming missiles.

I think the ship selection is completely random, although I haven't studied it in detail. I don't think custom ships appear less than the built-in ones ? I've waited five missions for a Falcon or Eagle before, too.

You said; "I didn't want to comment here publically until I'd had a good chat to a copyright lawyer and he has basically agreed with everything Brice has stated here." I'm pleased to read that. So now you ADMIT you were infringing my copyright? Why else change my 'island' game to a 'planet' game! A...

Eh? He hasn't removed references to Conquest and The General, at least not on my machine. I am partially appeased. Good :D . It'd be nice to see this settled amiably so you can go back to inventing successful board games and Sean can go back to writing successful Windows games 8) . We agree you can'...

I like the idea of being able to choose where to fight in the mighty Galactic Wars or whatever is going on. At the minute the game kind of runs out of content when you reach mission 100 or so: you are the highest level in the game (Admiral), you've played all the missions, you have tried all the shi...

Mistake! You won't do that again ;) ... we've probably all done it once (quitting in anger, that is).

Yeah, wingmen are dangerous things, particularly if you're flying an Eagle class which doesn't have any rear armour to speak of.

Yes. AFAIK they're only used to fill out the slots on civilian ships (freighters, hospitals etc) so they're just a bit of 'flavour'.

I think I remember reading somewhere that no more than 12 stealths make a difference? I might be making that up though.

Nice ...

... today I got my first three figure commander (100+ missions). Admiral Joe 35 is currently sitting on 111 missions completed, and still going :D . I'll be after that 200 any minute (well, tomorrow maybe :P) ... At least it means I get to test most of my ships (I've still not got to play with the T...

You can get my Darkness series designs from http://www.srcf.ucam.org/~rcs36/CMShips.zip . If I can count this as submitting them to your site that'd be great :P. There's 6 ships, ranging from the little 78c 'Speck' up to the tank-like 423c 'Total Eclipse', so it's a series you can make use of throug...

What Steve said. Otherwise you just hit hyperspace on first contact, and if everything's fine with 1 turn left you cancel it, rinse and repeat. That would get you out of a lot of holes without ejecting.

[Edit: without ejecting  . Must learn to type right]
