Breakout...
You may not be a number, you may be a free man - but the fact remains that the despicable $ are blockading Earth and we have to get our supply ships to Mars (or somewhere equally as desirable) for our hungry citizens to stuff their greedy fat faces with Snickers and Port... as well as a large supply...

Tagline is: "Intelligence reports the $ are building something in a large asteroid field. If it is a Death Star, we will be doomed, let's bug on over and find out..." ... and this mission has the following features... Asteroids Enemy Ships Enemy Turrets Enemy Structures 100% Kill Requirement Accordi...

About a day in total... spread over the weekend. Programming is mainly a hobby for me nowadays, but it was a career in the past - unfortunately, as techies often find, career progression in organisations often takes you away from the 'fun' parts of work, i.e. the code. Of course, it helps if you kno...

That would definitely be considered a spoiler... Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow are effectively the same book from the different perspectives of different main protaganists. So, the outcome of each book is the same - what that outcome is... well, a visit to your local library might help... but a vi...

Damn those Formics.
BTW... Ender's Shadow is supposed to be like the end of the two books where the Earth fleet arrives at the Formic's homeworld, with only 20 aged ships facing off a fleet of thousands... all determind to protect their Queen. Ender's Game has nearly been the best of me a number of times - you need a b...

You are correct!
Actually, that last one - Ender's Shadow - was an experiment... an experiment that didn't work out as I'd expected and there were some 'issues' with it... i.e. it didn't work. I'd uploaded an old version of the mission file... the current one, actually without any asteroid fields is up there now. Th...

How often do people's missiles go through targets?
I'm seeing this relatively often... often enough to comment on it anyway. You fire off a salvo at some dummy sitting duck... all your salvo is right on the money... straight down the throat... and one, I think I've seen two, missiles come out the other side of the target... like they jumped over it ...

In the INNO .iss file... [Files] Source: "designs.dat"; DestDir: "{app}"; Flags: promptifolder confirmoverwrite ...would at least ask the user if they want to overwrite a file upon a newer installation of the same program. Can't molly-coddle the users too much though... ask 'em, if they say "Yes" an...

..having said all of that...
Enhanced radio chatter would be a very good addition to any major future release of Critical Mass. It would be good for users to have the option to have textual, audio or both radio chatter turned on - or all turned off. Then, no-one can complain and everyone can have their preference. Enhanced audi...

Ender's game inspired...
So, as I'd been doing a bit of reading recently instead of wasting Merikon, I figured that it was time to take some inspiration from some classics... and some not so classics as well... but mainly classics. Here's a mission that Ender Wiggin wished he could fly I bet... not that Mazer was ever kille...

You're 100% right.
Yes, please do tone them down... as you see fit, just thought it worthwhile putting them on here for people to a) see and b) modify. I'm on 601 missions... with a seven-strong squadron of +400 credit ships... and they're still hard for me - as I said, I haven't completed Turrets myself yet. That's n...

Sad, but true...
Sadly, I haven't successfully completed "Turrets" yet... my 7-strong squadron of pretty beefy ships seems to shed their load of missiles in abject fear, turn tail and run for the hills. I know that I could do it, but I can't do it on my own, if only my wingmen weren't fraidy-cats and didn't hyper ho...
