2. How do units with Behaviour=INFANTRY_RECON differ from Behaviour=INFANTRY_SECTION?

The commonness is just used to select a realistic force for the enemy. The more common a tank is the more likely the enemy will pick it. And if commonness is zero for any period then you can't choose that item if the current date is in that period.

Very little actually! I think the only real difference is that the computer AI uses it to send that squad ahead of the rest of their troops.

Sean,

Thanks for the help.

So is it correct to say that the commonness values are added together and a particular unit's chance of being chosen is based on the ratio of its commonness value to the sum of all commonness values?

How is the proportion of the total available purchase credits spent on tanks, infantry, recon and supporting weapons (MGs, mortars, anti-tank, (flamethrowers?!)) determined for each "Units" setting?
