Spicing up the British campaign?

Post by Quitch » Mon Jul 04, 2005 4:06 pm

Anyone played this thing from the start? I can only take so many assault missions in the desert before I can't take it anymore and have to quit.

Have people any ideas on how to spice it up a bit more?

Personally I think more objectives would work, say:

Assault (assault as it stands)
Defence (defence as it stands)
Assault (destroy a building, unit, etc.)
Hold the Line (hold out for X amount of time)
Take and Hold (take an area and hold it for X amount of time)

Obviously the new ones would mean the enemy would be a bit beefier to make up for you not having to confront them directly.

Another idea would be to start some missions off with para drops, so you don't deploy your troops, they're dropped in at random and you have to bring them together to complete their mission.

How about missions where you only get half your troops to start and the others arrive as reinforcements later?

How about campaign veterans? The longer a squad survives the better its morale and accuracy... that'd help spice up campaigns a bit.

Here's an easy way to add some variety:

AI allies.

For the British in Africa part of the campaign for example certain missions could have you having a small Free French contingent working alongside you. You'd need to offer them support and co-ordinate your actions with them. It'd certainly add a whole new challenge :)
