thats the kind of situation that doesnt appear in firefight, and it suffers because of it. both with the jungle terrain and the improvised anti tank tactics that were all over the place in ww2

Note that the T-55s in the incident described seemed to lack any kind of infantry support.

They must have been moving quite slowly to be engaged in this way. Was this because of terrain, lack of driver expertise or mechanical limitations?
(One reason why you can't do this in Firefight is because the tanks move so fast, even through woods which you'd think would slow them down enough for this kind of thing to be possible).

In Firefight, I would like some soldiers to be able to carry AT grenades and panzerfausts instead of grenades. An alternative secondary weapon, so to speak.

Has anyone experimented with giving panzerfaust men in squads more than one "shot" of ammo?

@sid a rhody who became a boer.

@andy yep no infantry support - as to the speed - all 3 - the terrain is very shitty for vehicles, the crews were crap, and they did not really know how to maintain the tanks properly.

Before anyone gets the wrong idea - the majority of armor kills were artillery and the 90mm AP guns on the Ratels (wheeled AFV) and Elands (noddy car - armored car with a very oversized gun).I mentioned this because the subject was close assault not because all SADF people are GV rambo-wannabes
