Ripl in 23 days

This is arguably the hardest to beat level on the latest version of Slay. Anyone else get better than 23 days? Note that I never accept surrender so this is played all the way to the bitter end.

Paunn is another hard one. I have it in 22 days. It would be a toss-up which is more difficult, Paunn or Ripl.

I just beat Rouft in 21 days from a previous best of 25 days. This was the most unusual win I have ever had. I won entirely with spearmen. All enemies were destroyed by cutting them off and starving them. There was one castle that I built a knight to destroy on the very last day with no living enemies to be killed. Rouft appears to be the old level 64 from the previous version.

Assuming we're talking playing the maps only at the Very Hard setting, I have Paunn beat at 23 days (also, always to the bitter end for me). Rouft is at 27. I have to say, however, that both Ripl and Regy are _much_ harder.

I've beaten Ripl, but only with an outrageous number at 39. I have yet to beat Regy on Very Hard. I'm one of those on this forum that feels that this map is broken.

As my handle would suggest, I'm playing the latest iOS version on an iphone.

edit: As an aside - am I correct in surmising that the maps vary depending on which version of Slay one is playing on what platform?

Whether you beat Regy or not is entirely determined by one single non-intuitive move on the first day of the game. I have it at 25 days and from studying it, think I could get it down to 22 or 23 days. Also, I only play on Very Clever.

Roulk is another that can be tough. I have it at 22 days.

Thanks for the insight. I'll take another crack at Regy with that in mind.

Do you happen to know if the maps are indeed different between platforms? That is to say, even if the geography is the same, are things like territory distribution and tree placement different?

edit: Agreed that Roulk can be tricky. I worked out a territory hook-up in that one that worked beautifully. I got it in 19, but that was down from a score of something like 25 or 26. A quantum leap forward once I executed a different strategy.

Runou in 18 days. Very unusal strategy from the start. Southeastern 2 hexes leave alone for 3 days, then put a castle. Northeastern 2 hexes make a man and do as much damage as possible until he is killed. Center territory makes a man on the first day and manages to keep him alive until he can starve light green then make a second peon and eventually join this territory with the western territory. West two territories have to make a spearman with one and a peon with the other and join them on the second day.

Neecr in 16 days. I had previously been unable to win in less than 20 days. Took a different look at it and found a way to dramatically reduce days to win.

Ripl and Regy are the only "R" maps currently beyond me. I see the "counter-intuitive first round"tip for Regy. Please can anyone provide a Ripl tip?
(iphone version) Thanks.

Wow, I just did Regy in 19! (Full win, not surrender.) Based on all the guidance about which territories to join-up and how.

Naust in 18 days. Interesting way to win, did not build a knight until the 12th day.

qoni in 18 days. There turned out to be a couple of key moves at the beginning that allowed me to join territories for the win. This is one of the islands that is relatively easy to beat, but almost impossible to get less than 20 days.
