Centralized server to play?

Post by JoeK » Thu Sep 29, 2005 2:29 am

Hi, kinda new to the Slay board, but was wondering if we could get Slay up on Kali.net to play anytime you want to if you see people waiting to play. Rather then setting up ad-hoc games?

I think if you got it up on a server setup like Kali.net more people would see it download it and play it.

I have used Kali for 8 yrs now, haven't recently, but did back when my game of choice was Command and Conquer and Red Alert, it was cool to be able to use Kali.

Sean, I assume you would have to write a server component to make it work, so it might not be in the future.

Yes, I am planning to create a permanent server that could either host games or act as a meeting place for people to set up their own games. I've just gotta find some spare time!

just remember sean it does not have to fancy
just a plain text list server would be fine...this way
it wont eat up your bandwidth...

something like empires list server here..

except maybe show a number X showing how
many games "in progress"...instead of games
'waiting".....as its obvious games are waiting
when the list shows all the details of games waiting...
if you run..you'll only die tired
