Is this a bug or just me?

Post by sharon_2005 » Fri Oct 07, 2005 12:22 pm

Started slay up about an hour ago

And to my surprise all the completed ones had turned back to trees
I had completed all the very small islands, the small islands, the large islands and was 1/2 way through the very large islands :(

But now, when i start it up its as though i have never played it before, not 1 single 1 complete

I am assuming its my computer that corrupted a file but just though i would ask incase its a bug...

From now on, i will back up the slay directory every now and then :(

Wow. I have never heard of that.
Really big bummer.
I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune.

But.......now i have completed the first 9, so I'm getting there again.....slowly :(

Now if i can get my avatar to work i will be happy :?

I think, your situation is due corrupt or missing file slay.dat. All hi-scores stored here. If it was not so late, I could advice look into trash bin or search file with unerase utilities... Now I can only advice to backup this file only - it's simplier. :)

P.S. But looking into deleted still maybe usable. Who knows? :)

Sorry, but I've no idea what could have caused that. If the Slay.dat file is moved out of the folder or becomes unreadable though Slay will create a new blank one.

2Sean:
And this happens. :) slay.dat was missed->Slay make a new one->all records turned back to trees. All is simple! :)

And try hardly seek for slay.dat. Maybe it was simply removed to another directory? Previous "recycling bin and unerase" advice can be useful too. :)
