_ Posting info when new maps are added _

Post by _CRUSH_ » Tue Sep 07, 2004 12:33 pm

When new maps have been added to a site (the main Conquest map page or other pages players have created) WE should leave a post
letting everyone know when and where the new maps are located.

Curious if David Naglee has made it to the new message boards - if so,
are you planning any new maps. I enjoyed the 3 previous (BANDOR,
ESTERBROOK & FOREST BATTLE) you created.

_ Conquest MAP EDITOR by JOHN FOWLER _

Post by _CRUSH_ » Fri Sep 10, 2004 9:10 pm

(( I've been trying to Email John Fowler, the creator of the
Conquest Map Editor, but I've had no luck. The email listed on his
editor's ABOUT page doesn't seem to be in use.

If anyone knows how he can be reached - please let me know - Thanks.

John, if you pass through this new board, the message below is from
an email I've been trying to send you regarding the work you've put into
your editor program. ))

September 10, 2004

Hi John,
Just wanted to drop a note and say EXCELLENT work
on your Conquest Map Editor program!

I stopped creating maps for the game last year,
then recently became interested again - found your
map editor - and was blown away by it's performance.

One of the most interesting features in my opinion
is the resizing tool.

By the way,
enjoyed the Massachusetts map you created.

_ to John Fowler - Solar System 2 map _

Post by _CRUSH_ » Fri Sep 17, 2004 11:12 pm

Hi John,

I was curious if you've sent an unfinished version of your Solar System 2
map to Sean - the map file I downloaded from the official map site seems
to be unfinished.

Once I placed my armies on their territories, I realized that I couldn't
attack or move to another area. I checked the map file and it reads
this way

(( [Territories]
Territory01,23,453,Sun
Territory02,75,452,Sun
Territory03,122,464,Sun
Territory04,159,483,Sun
Territory05,192,508,Sun
Territory06,226,555,Sun
Territory07,245,603,Sun
Territory08,252,647,Sun
Territory09,246,690,Sun etc. ))

If you have the full working version I'm very interested in it.

By the way, I noticed that you and I used the same 'solar system pic'
for our maps - I recognized the small flaring off from the sun *
Your planets look much nicer though, as I filled mine in for territory.

Hope to play the complete version soon,
looks to be fun !

Try the link on my web site. The solar system map should be OK there.
