Downloading maps problem
Posted: Wed Mar 05, 2008 10:20 am
I wonder if anyone can help me with downloading maps from the website. I have copied both files into the 'maps' folder on my PC but the new maps do not appear in the drop down menu when I start a new game.

1. Are you using the DEMO version or the FULL version of the Conquest game ?
2. After adding the new maps - close your Conquest game and reopen it again. Make sure you SCROLL UP all the way in your maps PULL DOWN menu - - - The maps should show up in alphabetical and numerical order.
3. Which map(s) have you tried adding ?
4. Are you UNZIPPING the files before you add them to your maps folder ?
Sorry if my information seems to basic, sometimes it's the simple things we miss.
GOOD LUCK !
Let us know if you fix the problem

Hi again Leeroy
Most people use WINZIP to zip and unzip (create & open) .ZIP files. You can get a free basic version of Winzip at download.com or at the official WinZip site.
If you're using a WINDOWS PC then you should have a default application which unzips files if you RIGHT CLICK over the .zip file, so you may not need to download Winzip. I just added this information in case you don't have that.

This is how you extract the files inside the .ZIP file.
Download a ZIPPED map file.
For example: The PYRAMID map below.
You can SAVE THIS FILE to your computer or OPEN it directly.
DRAG the 2 files you find inside onto your computer. (( There will be a .BMP file and a .MAP file )).
Add those 2 files ( the .BMP & the .MAP ) to your Conquest Maps folder.
You should be able to play the PYRAMID map after you've done that *
Please let me know how it goes for you !
p.s. I will be logging off now --- I will check back tomorrow, GOOD LUCK !
