EDIT: actually if you count all the computer versions
win/palm/ce etc...its about 2$ per game......


and 5$ is not enough for CME JOHN! more in the 10-15$ range

Say, didn't this game use to cost $25, in 1996? I guess I can say the price has dropped then.

Well... thanks for not selling it for a higher price.

One question--how long did it take you to make Conquest, or any other game, for the PPC?

Wow... tough forum-members. I still think $20 is too much, but I'll live with it.

I've been playing computer games for more than 20 years so maybe I can give some perspective. The first strategy/war games came out for the Apple in 1981, not as good as Sean's, and were $60 which would be maybe $150 or more in today's dollars.

In today's market $20 is a bit high, $12-$15 would be appropriate but Sean is entitled to make a few bucks for his effort. On the other hand, $40 for all eight is a huge bargain. After a couple weeks of trying them out, I'll decide if I like them enough to purchase. If so, the bundle makes a lot of sense.

Hmmm, I've noticed the dollar is down to the Euro but have no idea where it is to the pound. In any case, anybody who buys only one game for $20 when he can get all eight for $40 isn't smart enough to play them in the first place. :wink:

I guess we're just going to have to holiday in the US to get the benefit of the weak dollar.

Alternately with more and more things available mail order and purchased in USD start buying more and more things over the internet!

I was going to snivel about the price, but after reading through Sean's comments, I won't.

And I must admit, that these games have been around for A LONG time and Sean is continueing to update them and make them better. So for lifetime upgrades, a developer that has been around for a while and improvements, yeah I guess it is worth the $20USD.

I was hesitant about buying the game at first and considered just going to the local electronics superstore and picking up RISK out of the bargain bin. My mind was changed when I saw the huge amount of new maps available and how easy it would be for me to create and share my own maps. Also, the gameplay is much more intuitive than what I remember from the RISK game I use to play on my roommates computer.

I've paid 40-50 dollars for supposedly hot games that either turned out to suck, got bored with after quickly beating it, or supoort and upgrades ended once the corporations producing them made their profits. Twenty dollars for something that will always evolve in new and different ways is a bargain in my book.

If you're smart you'll spend $40 for the package. Imo Slay is the sleeper. And there are like 10,000 maps for it.

I just bought all the games. I'd previously bought Critical Mass (a loooong time ago). Let's compare Critical Mass to another game I bought, Master of Orion 3...

Critical Mass: Excellent fun, well thought out, constant redevelopment. The game play from v2 to v4 has changed massively, the graphics are better, you can design your own ships...

Cost: $20 (about ?11)

MOO3: Hugely tedious, AI from hell, most dissappointing game ever. Released before it was ready, minimal support to make game playable, let alone good. The graphics are nicer than Critical Mass though.

Cost: ?35 new

So for 1/3 the amount, I got a game which is at least 3 times as much fun. Where is the problem?
