Yet I'm not going to create a page like Fighter_Ace's one; I want a better download page for every map, not only for a few maps hosted at my site.sid6.7 wrote:your right his page is pertty good.. so far lots of people download maps
there...but you could try...you can always take it down if no one shows
make it as simple as possible to upload and rate difficulty so you dont
have to spend alot of time coding and the noobies can understand it...
i'll promise to submit one if you do...then i'll see what
happens for a bit before i'll submit more...i have a buddy
that has 2 maps i could probably get him to try also...or
submit his 2 for him..
You can already do this from Sean's page, just click on theBoxZone_Author wrote:Some way to see the map before you download it (shift it to the correct directory and unzip it) or at the very least a ranking system could prove very popular.
Well, players will be able to sort maps by either difficulty or rating, but also by post date; this way new maps won't get lost among the others!BoxZone_Author wrote:The only thing I fear is that once you have the 'top ten maps' it will be very difficult for a new map to get onto this list as few people will download an unranked map to try it out and rate it.
OMG i never noticed that before...n-drx wrote:You can already do this from Sean's page, just click on theBoxZone_Author wrote:Some way to see the map before you download it (shift it to the correct directory and unzip it) or at the very least a ranking system could prove very popular.image.

So, the download links on such page will point to the files already on Sean's site (though I could host some new maps on my site, since Sean posts maps here about twice a year...).
Also, in case Sean is interested, I could let him host the php page directly on his site...

Actually, I don't know!sid6.7 wrote: oh i'd ask sean first...for bandwidth loss issues...
i really think you should host the files or at least all the new maps
made after today.....otherwise it kinda defeats the purpose of
having a seperate map website wouldnt it? or were you just shooting
for a rating system for maps currently hosted by sean?
i'm confused...
