...who talks to his wingmates and allies, and sometimes his enemies while dogfighting and maneuvering?

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean with talking to them?

As in saying things like, "Watch out for that _______" or "This one's mine."

Sometimes mentally, sometimes verbally.

I only really swear at other pilots.

Usually at my wingmen after they shoot me, get in my way, or or steal my kills.

Occasionally at watchers/super watchers - they are just by far the most annoying enemies (I now make a point of going after them straight away, even if there are warriors etc I could be attacking instead).

This is the reason I wanted other pilots to have unique individual stats, abilities, and callsigns - it would be nice to feel concern for my wingmen, and maybe even forgive them when they do something retarded, instead of wanting to blow them up.

I find wingmen so annoying that I recently made a new type of ship for them, designed specifically to not be so annoying. It has the minimum firepower (1 launcher + drachans) so it can't kill me by accident or steal my kills, heavy armour so it can draw some fire and not instantly die, and tons of radar.

I have a support class myself. Usually average performance fighters in their cost bracket, but armed only with Drachans.

I used to talk to them a bit, but lately I don't.

Once after all of my wingmen had perished, I was in my custom "titan", and there was one warrior left who was not fleeing for some reason. So we are dueling out in the middle of the deep blue, and our ships have the same turning radius and speed, so it's pretty much a stalemate. So he and I start having this conversation as we turn to bear. We started talking about the nature of life, love, and how long popcorn really needs to be done to taste its best. After a while, I couldn't take it anymore. I cheated. I kept him talking about where we all came from, and as he listened and turned I fired all but 3 of my plectron compliment. This lightened my ship enough that my turning radius whas 2 points above his. So finally he fell silent in the comprehension of his error, and resigned himself to the devastation of a saw of plectrons to an unshielded portion of his ship. Where ever he is now, he's probably not talking to opponents anymore. People don't often repeat mistakes that stupid.

That's one way to look at it.

And, yes, I've used the lighten the ship trick myself.

Ya I love the way I can start out with full missles/8 shieldperside, and get worn down in battle to almost no shields and a light missle compliment. My turn goes from 70* to like 76* It's like metaphorical of how an animal or person while fasting or abstaining from food will become sharper of mind and body and get their mark better. . . . :P

Okay it's time for the first ever truly true CM CHEAT! Dunt Du Da Da!
Cheat: you can accelerate your ship a whole turn-and-a-half's worth in the space of one turn, at the expense of having half acceleration on the next turn after. Here's how.(this also works with turn rate XD) start a mission. clik the point of ur accel arrow and drag it to the farthest you can. this is ur normal single turn accel, right? but, before ending turn, click and hold the point of the arrow and drag it even farther forward, as far as you want it to go. You won't see the arrow go farther than its max, but if you press "end turn" or "space" while holding the ship guide arrow like that, you gain an extra half turn's worth of accel/decel in one turn............cool huh? Now u know!
