Well, said ship without any shield whatsoever was actually my favourite at the time. I lost it to a harddisk crash, though. At 102-ish credits I could afford it after one or two missions and would just stick to it until 25 or 30.

Most of my "best" designs are in the 90-110 credit range.

I've also taken to flying cheaper ships lately - you can actually make something pretty decent for under 90 credits, and it makes earning gold crosses a piece of cake.

Cheap, tough, and maneuvrable :)

I didnt know how to use the forum, and I started a new Topic.
I designed a new version of ships.
Good turning, visibility, relatively cheap, great firepower.
I wonder how nobody had my idea before.
They cost less than 130 credits.
Also I have a series of extremely cheap ships.
Give me a little bit of time.

the best ship for me usually combines Excellent durability
with good turning ability or thrust.
my designs usually come out to be about 120 pts

thurst isn't useful I think. About 30 is the minimum required, but you don't need so much thurst. As all the ship have the same max speed (wich should be modified I think), basic acceleration skill are suffisant.
