Escort Mission Weirdness

Post by Fenny » Thu May 12, 2005 3:17 am

Hey, I've only been playing for a week now. But I've noticed something strange...

When I first played the "escort" missions, I would fly ahead and would always find the enemy squadron for a good fight. I didn't always win but it was good practice.

Then, I figured that "escort" means "stay close to the ship being escorted". So, I tried flying slowly just in front of the "escort" ship.

It took awhile, but we eventually crossed the sector. The strange thing is that I didn't encounter any enemy forces in two of these missions.

Does this happen often? Thanks in advance.

If you go for 30 turns without action occuring, the mission ends. This is to avoid people getting frustrated about having to wait forever for a mission to end.

I'm not exactly sure about what counts as "action", but I know the timer resets if a missile is fired. I'm not sure if seeing an enemy counts too.
