I believe if you bought the full latest version then just e-mail Sean and he'll send you the older versions.

EDIT: I wrote "lastest" instead of "latest" the first time...

"Using" cargo and passengers would be cool - transport someone from one starbase to another, or deliver a cargo of missiles , or something like that. Or you could be flying a freighter and have to rely on your wingmen to protect you. Docking with weapons factories to reload your missiles would also be good.

Yeah, that would all be some rich stuff, Zephyr. Problem is, there is currently no use for cargo and passengers in custom ships. I have no idea why Sean included them seeing as how you can't very well use them in combat. There really needs to be the option of making missions where you CAN pick up and protect passengers or cargo! I'de love that! It really would enhance the game and severely contribute to the strategy and complexity of the game! *chants* Add it! Add it! Add it!

Well, they're internal compartments, right? You can use them as additional armour which could even be repaired by a bot.

They are for use in the passenger liners and such, otherwise these things would look like nothing.. just armor and command centers. I personally dont like the idea of adding such aspects into this game. It is nice as it is, a simple dogfighting spaceship game that is lots of fun.

I suppose if you take it TOO far then it would become "Elite" :) but as cargo and passengers are already "there" as it were, it would be nice to be able to use them, and would give the game a bit more depth.

Aye! But you are missing something. Cargo and Passengers take LOADS of weight onto your ship... severely slowing you down. Also, you have to consider that a daycorn missile can easily smash out two or more at a time meaning you'd have to bring tons (in both aspects) to stay armored! Overall, it would be way more efficient to just make all your armor repair bots at that rate!

P.S. Passengers cannot be repaired! Sean fixed that! :wink:

You're probably right. I didn't quite think that through.

Thats actually pretty much awesome. I am going to try it and let you know how it goes. (the super-repairbot of dhoom ship)

CC=Command Center
R=Radar
RB=Repair Bot
E=Engine
S=Shield
MT=Missile Tube

I will draw you a picture

........RB-MT-R-CC-CC-R-MT-RB
....RB.....................................RB
....R.......................................R
....E........................................E
S-CC.....................................CC-S

Ok, and it was Thrust 37 and Turn 61

Amazingly survivable ship. I created a scenario where there were about 20 crippled random enemy ships around (like turrets, but with better missiles/radar) and flew through it, got beat up, turned as fast as I could (usually not very fast) and went through again and again until I got blown up. Took....like ten minutes. I guess. I went through the group if cripples about twelve times. It was alctually pretty fun! :D:D:D:D
