:idea: Here's what I would like to try to add:
--Unique components for ships: stronger shields, upgraded components that cost much more: like shields 3 or missle bay 2 or scanner level 2 or other things, engine level 2.
--And new rules for ship design: maximum of 6 missle bays, (costs alot more per bay) increase maximum component thing.
--Bases can fire back somtimes, Factories produce a drone every 5 turns or so...
--And add a survival mode and get credits for how long you last in the mode: enemies spawn in-game (maybe hyperspace in)
--COLLATERAL DAMAGE FROM MISSLES!!!!!!
--Asteroids are blown up from missles and send small chunks blasting through space and can cause collateral damage if you are hit.
--When collateral damage happens from exploding missles, exploding ships, exploding asteroids: if hit, only 1/4 damage is inflicted upon a component: like 1/4 is on fire and stuff. and if 4/4 happens it is destroyed.
--Space mines (Minefield, like asteroids, but hurts like a yatari)
--Yatari missle tonnage of the warhead is doubled
--COLLISIONS IN SPACE DO DAMAGE!!! its like crashing 2 cars together.
--More collateral damage from missle explosions in space
--Missles explode in space when following you sometimes: just like on earth and our SAM's
--Gigantic ships, like a mothership or something: just for giggles and a fun, tough scenario.
--A possibility: maybe a spaceshipcarrier to launch about 5-10 drones simulating fighter ships combating in space.
--You know that it doesnt matter about how a ship looks, it can be a cube and go just as fast as any other ship you know, because there is no air in space, so AERodynamics don't apply to space. But landing on a planet, it sure does help, kinda hard to land a cube.

Do you think I have good ideas Sean?

We've covered most of those in ot her threads, so you can find the arguments against and for them elsewhere, but I think flames in space are unlikely considering this is futuristic and uses more advanced power sources than liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen, so there would be nothing to burn(rather nothing to feed the flames).

Furthermore, many of those ideas would require a drastic overhaul ofnot only the AI but the actual workings of the game's combat engine, and Sean's time is spread thin as it is, so I don't expect him to take the time to do some of those things which we've already discussed and decided they were bad ideas. He's a busy man and it's a lot of code to write some of that stuff.
