What is your favorite missile?

Hey what are you guys' favorite missiles to use in CM. Its a tough decison, they all are good in their own ways. I'm interesting in knowing your reasons for your choices too.

I think my favorite would have ot be the yatari. Its slow, but its powerful and it homes, which makes it really useful. Plectrons are usually hard to hit with especially in dogfights where it is almost impossible. Geenees are nice too, but they just don't have the sheer power of the yataris.

I love the Plectrons myself. Particularly against the maneuverable enemies, I find it really hard to hit with homing missiles, and the only way to get the kill is to come up on their flank and launch a volley of Plectrons into them.

I like the Daycorn for it's hard to outmaneuver. Its short fuel-supply though makes you get close to your target, but if you manage to follow your enemy in a short distance you can be sure to hit him.

I always have a mix of daycorns and plectrons in my custom ships, and then for the more expensive ones I add one or two rows of yataris. I dont use/like the other ones.

Oh, plectrons all the way! If you know what I mean, they are the most deadliest in the game. Not only that but the most strategic too! I love to plan where a moving ship will be in the next turn and spew a bunch of them right into his path. Also, they make awesome ramming missiles. Here is where thrust comes into play. When there is a halted ship or a crippled one, I fly at top speed and SMASH into him. Once in contact, I fire a bunch of them right into him! KABANG! This is also why I love front armor over back armor... you can play that game on turrets and ships facing at you. Not to mention, missiles homing when you don't want them to or where you don't want them to (like allies)... ugg I hate that! Yup, plectrons a winner!

Plectrons. Without them I would not get most of my kills. I rarely use other missiles, as I like to practice coming in from the side with a volley of Plecs; it wipes out most ships.

I've been trying out plectrons a lot more since people seem to like them a lot and have gotten surprisingly good results. I've killed more ships than I ever had in a single missions using plectrons. They are a lot easier to use than I thought. Though I still do like yataris. Using a cloaked ship loaded with some yataris, I just got three gold crosses in four missions! This is my best commander so far. He's gotten a GC using a plectron ship as well.

My thoughts exactly! They have such power and explosive damage, too. They almost always take out two or three light shields making them absolutely deadly! Besides, the homing feature on most missiles can be a real pain in the -you know what-! Example, when there are allies in the area or dead ahead. And it is especially annoying when you are trying to attack the enemy perpendicularly :x . I used to like yataris (They used to be the most powerful) but now I just think they are too dog-gon slow.
My thanks and best regards to all my former submitters.

Though I like Plectron and Daycorn, Geenee is my favourite: reasonably powerful and homing, with good speed and not so easy to outmanoeuver.

Once you get used to using them, plectrons are probably the best. Not to mention when you get into a collision with an enemy and you just need to blast them quickly before they get too many missiles off at you.

I get most of my kills from the side, when im flanking an enemy ship or squadron. I launch the plectron[s] and the enemies will crash into them

sometimes i launch 3 or 4, knowing that hitting the first will slow them down enough so the second can hit them before they get out of the way, and that in turn slows them for the 3rd and 4th, and then they're dead.

It helps to be used to geometry and trigonometry and all that. knowing the where the path of my missile and the enemy ship will intersect, I can turn my ship in the middle of the volley, to get the most firepower.
