Roll of Honour

Post by drwhite7 » Mon Nov 21, 2005 6:34 am

I don't like how the Roll of Honour is arranged. I think it really should be sorted by rank first, then medals. So far, the furthest I got was Commodore. That commander haad lots of Outstandings and CB's but no Gold Crosses, so he is below several majors who managed to get one Gold Cross. I don't think that is right. The commander right above him only got through 4 missions witha 50% success rate and only got as far as Major in rank. He got one GC and on MOH. My Commodore had three MoOC and at least 8 CBs. He got through 21 missions with a 76% success rate. I think this Commodore has definitely earned more honor than the major. What do you guys think?

Rank is just a function of number of kills.

Medals shows some skill at killing lots of expensive ships in the one mission.

A commander with 300 missions and 300 kills is awfull (just very cautious).
One with 70 missions and 300 kills is a better commander (and will have the medals to prove it).

Perhaps a weighted medal score so that a three GC Major doesn't push off a 2GC, 11MoOC, 20 MoCB Commodore might be good but it gets complicated.
