Hey Sean,

Have you ever thought of making Critical Mass multiplayer?
It is turn based...

Cheers,

Stop me if you've heard this!

You know the talk of multi player?

Well, if memory serves, the usual talk is of:

1. Two human players squadrons slugging it out.

2. MORE than two human squadrons players slugging it out!

What I'd like to see is the option to have HUMAN wingmen!

Think of the possibilities!

About 75% less friendly fire!

The ability to alocate RELIABLE wingmen the task of defending or destroying certain targets.

You could have a squadron where you could make use of players unique talents - I excell at destroying static targets, but I dislike dogfighting.

Also, you could import wingmens ships specifically designed by them, for them so everyone's flying a ship they're comfortable with...

Just imagine a sunday afternoon sitting down with 10 or a dozen guys divided into two squadrons plunging into the frey. You'd soon find out who made a good leader, who was the best dogfighter, who was the best shot and who was the menace in the squadron that you REALLY don't want to be close to...

Also, say you've got too many people subscribed, why not give any extra players control of turrets (I'm sure I could do a better job than the AI) or civilian ships while they're waiting for their turn?

If this has already been brought up 674,892,125 times, please disregard, otherwise, any additions to the roles 'PEOPLE' could play where the job is currently given over to the AI?
The one thing that we learn from history is that we don't learn from history...

Is multiplayer needed or not, I don't know...
But for sure I don't like that much horizontal scrolling. This thread is at least 9,999,999,999,999 times too large!!!

cavemaniac1, that sounds totally awesome! I'd LOVE to see some of that. I also loved your idea of people commanding turrets and civilians. That would totally rock my world! CM would be taken to a whole new dimension!
My thanks and best regards to all my former submitters.

It would be fun to play a tanker or something in those Defend Sector Base missions; you could practice running away like a madman! Good stuff.

The human wingmen idea is a really good one. Repeated often, maybe, but that's just because it's so good. I think my best area is shooting enemies with Plectrons, but it would probably be much more difficult against human players.

I guess he will do it as soon as he got a striking idea of how to do it as I don't think that's a thing to do in the evening when you just happen to have a couple of minutes of spare time...

Someone commands a squadron defending a starbase, whilethe other get a hold of those nifty super turrets... that'd be cool... or maybe just an excuse for me to play a turret... I WANNA BE A TURRET!

Having human wingmen is nice, except when they feel particularly murderous and kills you. But this also brings up a second point; when it comes to having the leader killed, will there be an option of all Wingmen retreating, or will it be a total free for all?
I live, I fight, I survive, It's all good.
