See http://www.windowsgames.co.uk/criticalHistory.html for a full version history.
Versions 1 and 2 didn't have the version number written in the About box though. Bascially, if the ships don't have the 3-D look you are playing the "old" version.

But in the same respect, if I have the old verson (2-D ships in January 1997, somewhere after 2.0), could I prove I have it and then request the newer verson of the game, or would I need to buy it again if I would like to play it?
The same thing for slay, but I am fine with the old version that I have.

Send me an email and I'll check if your email address is in the orders database.Warmaster wrote:But in the same respect, if I have the old verson (2-D ships in January 1997, somewhere after 2.0), could I prove I have it and then request the newer verson of the game, or would I need to buy it again if I would like to play it?

Well I have been talking with my brother and it seems he had tried it a while ago and you do not have us in your database. (nor would I remember a nine year old Email address, but he did at the time)
So if you do not have us in the database is there no other way to prove that we ever bought the game?

I think I have the same version Warmaster mentioned (2D ships, the about box says 1997, although I can't find a version number anywhere).
Would it be possible to get a copy of the latest version if I e-mailed you a screenshot of the about box? I don't remember what e-mail address was used to buy it before.
Thanks.
