Unit Suggestion

I may play too much Civ III, but I love my marines because I can launch amphibious attacks from transports. They would be a specialized ground force like Paras.

Also, I'm curious about how hard it would be to make it so Paras can become airborn again by going to a city, maybe some kind of option like sleep.

I think this game is awesome, I just don't think there's enough ground firepower, and it'd be cool to have more options in launching ground assaults.

Yeah, I kinda see what you are saying. I also realize that there are 5 sea units, 3 air units, and only 1 ground unit! Don't you think it would be more like the other way around? One thing for me, I find a whole bunch of sea units and only one slow moving ground unit a bit annoying. You can't even capture a city with a sea unit yet you have 5 different ones! It would be nice to have other units that may be perhaps weaker like... infantry that could move two spaces at a time! The only downfall would be the lack of armor. An advantage would be you could hold a whole lot more in transports and they could be made in fewer days. Besides, real war seems to be quite centered around the troops that fight on the ground. I'm not sure about other people, but I think more ground units would be really cool!

The argument is that air units can be used in ground operations as well as sea operations, so there are effectively 3 ground units, and paras which are effectively highly mobile armies.

The ships are good because they make sea battles very strategic, where as land battles are about overwhelming an opponant, making islands much harder to take, without naval superiority/ air superiority

Given the current maps, I like it as it is. If some large, mostly land maps were introduced, I could perhaps see some argument for adding another unit...
