Scoring needs some work

Post by Quitch » Fri Dec 17, 2004 11:09 pm

My family love rats, problem is there's no reason to finish a level quickly since the bonus scores are pretty feeble. They've found it's far better to trap some rats in a corner, kill the rest, then let them breed, kill them, breed again, kill again, and repeat ad nasum.

I dont see the fun to trap rats in corner to keep them alive just to make points... make it to level 40 and when you finish it, its still level 40 that begin, if you finish it again you get more points but at less you have fun ...
Could maybe add in highscore list the real level you made ... actually if you made level 40 3 times its still level 40 that appear in highscore not 43... I think the level is more important, not the scores.

Because there is a high score table, and the point is to get high scores. Currently the game gives you no real reason to kill the rats quickly, doing so simply leads to you scoring low.

No, the point is to get as high a level as possible!

Then the High Score table should rank you simply according to how many levels you completed. So long as you have a High Score table, then whatever it ranks you by is the point of the game.

One solution: only the original rats get scored. Any offspring from them scores zero.
