Latest version is 2.0

Post by Sean OConnor » Fri Aug 05, 2011 11:04 am

I've released a new version which uses DirectX to speed up drawing and make the gameplay smoother. The graphics are also all updated now as I can use PNG files instead of just BMPs.

If you don't have DirectX installed it should use GDI+ and look the same but the animation will be a bit more jerky.

Let me know what you think!

I was wondering, how are you supposed to access the new version? Where can you get the download?

Send me an email to sean@windowsgames.co.uk and let me know the email address you would have ordered under and I'll send you back a link.

The new graphic seems to work correctly. I like to see that the dino are now different from each other, but I think that they could also be different by there capacities, like in capture-the-flag...

Have you made change to the AI? cause the dino look to be more stupid then in the previous version and unaible to follow any kind of logical tactic. This made the game result look a bit random... :?

the fisrt is easy to see... this is a very strange trophy

the second is also easy to see. In the "next matches" section, you can see the previous matches' results diplayed...

Yeah, gotta admit I much prefer the old trophy icon myself.

Also, I reckon the grade of the trophy should be colour-coded (say, gold-first, silver-second, bronze third and, I dunno, maybe brown for the fourth grade) and that the number on each trophy should be the season.

The first idea can be done by ourselves, we just have to modify the "trophies.png" file...

Sorry, the trophy image looks like it's being stretched. I'll get that fixed.

And also, it appears that additional trophy graphics stop after 10. May be linked to the stretch problem. However, in earlier versions, the collection of trophies grew until the window space ran out.

Cheers,

Andy
