Free France vs Vichy France?

On the France campaign in 1940, how come you can choose Vichy infantry and colonised infantry even though you are the resistance?

And while I'm at it, what about the split between "Red" China and "Blue" China?

Suggestions:

Red China - The Communist Party of China
The Communists hold a hilly position in the north, and often launch suprise attacks at the Japanese armies. Their troops are fewer and their armoured vehicles less than those of the Kuomintang, but their morale in general is higher.

Blue China - The National Revolutionary Army
The NRA hold a position in the south. Their army, although greater than the Japanese army and the CPC, are untrained and demoralised. Although they have armoured vehicles, those are not of a high standard, and are easily beaten back by the Japanese tank onslaught.[/b]

On the first point:
I guess in 1940, before France was defeated, there was no difference between Free French and Vichy French, as, if I remember correctly, the Vichy government was instituted after France had been defeated and the Germans occupied Paris.
On the second point:
I'm not too familiar with Chinese history, but I somehow feel that splitting them up would mean more trouble than it's actually worth. Looking at the flag in Firefight the point more precisely also would have to be that the Chinese Communists are missing completely.

During the war with the Japanese, the Nationalist Chinese and Communist Chinese more or less agreed to a truce and to work together against the common enemy. So, there only needs to be one China in the game.
