Scenario Editor?

Post by Schiko » Sun Dec 21, 2008 7:41 pm

I'd like to create my own *.sly files, but i can't find
any scenario editor.
If no editor exists, i'd like to program it, if anybody
knew the file layout.

Once you have Slay up, press ctrl+m, or go to file>map editor.

I want a scenario editor, with the possibility to edit ALL units, terrains,
money, trees etc, not just the shape of the islands.

I'm working on it..
..and the first beta version is almost ready to release.

Since the game engine places starting units/etc. at match start, I think the only way you can do that is to create a utility to edit save files, then load the save game as a scenario. Someone manipulated a save game through playing to create a scenario I believe, but if you pull off an editor, it'll be pretty amazing, too.

Done!

Features:
-Create new maps or load saved *.sly files
-Edit terrain and units for each player like you do it in the map editor
-Edit money
-Auto capital and starting money, if needed.

-Background image as template

Wow, I'm impressed!

Am I mistaken, or does it seem that the editor presents a larger map area than the integrated one does?

Yes, it draws all hexagons, but you can edit only the valid one.

Slay Scenario Editor

Post by Schiko » Wed Jan 07, 2009 3:02 pm

Features:
-Create new maps or load saved *.sly files
-Edit terrain and units for each player like you do it in the map editor
-Edit money
-Auto capital and starting money, if needed.
-Background image as template

1.0.0.6
-Auto Calc Terretories
-Auto Money

1.0.0.7
fixed bug: -File save and load increased money
-Show/hide hex
-Show/hide terretory borders

1.0.0.8
-"clipboard" hexagon drawn in the top left corner
-multiselect: click + ctrl, drag + ctrl
-copy and past support
-ctrl+c select single selection to "clipboard"
-ctrl+v past "clipboard" to multiselection
-colors can be edit
-colored buttons with color picker
-cursors updated with player# ..but not with user color :-(

Btw: modifying challenge games is possible, but this won't increase
the highscores.

I highly suggest trying it out. It's a neat power toy.
