I have buy the full version in january 2009. I have the new hill, but not the new data.

I guess leaders/commanders in real battles find that a problem too!

Mon General, I have never had a chance to play anything multiplayer, I would love this to be the first.

I agree that there would be plenty of users who would be willing to pay for a major revision of Firefight. I certainly would.


If it does ever happen buy your wife a week vacation at her favorite spot because there is little more addictive than ww2 RTS multiplayer. I used to play these 6x6 games for APRM Hidden Stroke and it was nothing short of awesome.

Basically you have flags on both sides of the map. Each flag captured releases more reinforcements, the deeper the flag, the beefier the reinforcements. Then, ideally, using team chat you coordinate attacks and defenses setting up defensive areas using mines and AT and then attack a certain location. Or sometimes you hate everyone on your team and you end up with 6 different plans. We also got spotter planes to try and spy on your enemy, dive bombers to soften up positions and fighters which would strafe columns. Now all of a sudden you need AA to protect columns while you coordinate a counter attack through a cluster of villages...throw in bridges, paratroopers and occasional offboard artillery missions and you have nothing short of a wargaming nirvana.

I hope that someday you will be able to experience this joy.
