I agree, fast forward would be a good idea. when you start the battle and wait for an ennemy fire, it is long sometime.
I need to write something, so i create that signature.

But you can use the time reasonably by... getting jumpy. Or humming sonds from the era. Or rearranging your defences twice to ensure you will get hit in a moment of utmost confusion and a record of unpreparedness.
