What if Firefight had battleships

Post by Morgenroete » Thu Nov 11, 2010 2:13 am

I don't know if this topic has ever been brought up, but what if there was a Navy version of Firefight? It would seem a fairly simple to include a Navy aspect to the game. Not all maps would have to be big blue squares of water. There could be historical maps like Guadalcanal, an island with reefs and shallow bays. Not to mentions a plethora of ships, aircraft and weapons. If games like Navy Field have proven anything there is an avid community of mariners who would like nothing other then to blow each other out of the water.

we have already talk about this, far far ago, but Sean answer us that he would not add navy or airplane, because everybody on the battlefield would be suppressed...
I need to write something, so i create that signature.

I am unsure about this, what if 2 squads of tanks were to go at it? Would they be constantly suppressed? How would that be different from 2 squads of battleships? In addition boats and airplanes wouldn't just stop. Would inertia and minimum air speed be too hard to program?
