Strength of units

Post by spacebas » Thu Mar 17, 2005 8:01 pm

First off, thank you so much for making this game. I was addicted to Strategic Conquest in college. Once I graduated I lost my access to a Mac. So I have been looking for a PC version ever since.

My question is: What are the relative strengths of the various units? I assume they each dish out various amounts of damage. Does this damage depend on the type of unit being attacked or is it constant?

I second the request for the option to slow the game down. Perhaps a mode that allows you to step through the action by hitting the space bar and another mode that takes one step per second.

I'm no expert on this, and I havn't purchased yet(I beat the demo options for all his war/strategy games about 255 times and still play them religiously when "working" on the computer.) The Conquest demo is the second or third most played PC game in the school computer labs, opposed only by network Hearts and Minesweeper, but I like a game of MOAB when I'm too lazy to start up a new Civ 3 game, and I've noticed that the Submarine seems to have a massive attack bonus on Battleships. Likewise, Destroyers are effective against Submarines. I may be wrong, but that is my observation.

P.S. I plan on buying the whole package ifI ever get some spending money. I play all but Rats and Football, and I have them on my to-buy list, right behind new tires for my old beater truck.
