Island #64 - The Babymaker

Post by gruff » Mon Jun 20, 2005 1:59 am

This is the official Island #64 thread. As folk from Rochester to Riyadh know, Island #64 is called "The Babymaker" for its ability to reduce full-grown men to weak blubbering infants, sometimes within five turns.

How far have you got on this island? What strategies have you tried? How do you release the massive tension caused by playing it twenty times in a row and being crushed like a small berry every single time?

PS Mr D. Jones, your gloating humor ist nicht erwuenscht on this thread, thank you very much!

Herewith, my most coherent thoughts about beating this island....

Abblah wah. Gagurgghle blibby blawazzle. Greesh.
Hambalablagraggle smedge. Flargawaplagakurbash.

Need I say more? :(

I cannot believe it. I have just beaten this island. 39 days, though I played pretty slop towards the end when it was clear I would win.

Could I repeat the performance? Maybe. Maybe not. But it's POSSIBLE, gentlemen!

So this guy goes in a restaurant and sees 3 pretty blondes sitting at a table. They suddenly start chanting "39 days", "39 days", "39 days". He gets kind of curious and goes over to see what its all about. When he asks, they tell him they just beat a puzzle in record time. He looks at the box and it says "age, 2 to 4 years". sigh.

Fusion - maybe I should run before the howling mob catches sight of me.

Oh my stars and garters. I've broken this island. Beat it a second time: 32 days, and I see where I can tighten up.

Tomato Man, I am coming up behind you.

See if you can break 24 days. I haven't been able to.

Yes, I was needling you with a couple of insinuations above. Any 4 year old should be able to beat #64 in 39 days. *G*

The best anyone has sent me so far (to my lowest slay scores webpage at
http://www.btinternet.com/~boxzone/Othe ... nkings.htm
) was Mielus in 21 days.

My personal best is a big cross (on Very Difficult which I assume is the only difficulty level worth discussing).

I have it in 27 days right now, haven't gone back to it in a while. Don't even remember it, really.

Box Zone,

If someone has it in 21 days, that means they accepted surrender at 21 days. The actual win in that case would have been about 26 or 27 days presuming surrender was NOT accepted.

I never accept surrender.

As stated above, I'd like to see if anyone has managed a win in less than 24 days Without accepting surrender.

Hey, guys, I saw the topic and tried #64. Got it in 19 (surrender). :o I'm on v3.2 -- so maybe it's easier than the latest version? Maybe I'll have to upgrade just to check it out.

Make sure you are playing #64 on version 4.2c or above and using the highest difficulty level. You must play the challenge game. For version 3.x users, try island #94.

Ah, 94 on version 3 -- that's a different story :( Had me thinking I was good for a while (on 64), but on this one, I'm nowhere near on the top level -- or even one down.

Must try harder.
